Hornsey Town Hall will get its planned facelift
HTCT Chair Ann Wilkes said today, "We are delighted that the Planning Committee has given the green light to proceed with our plans for the restoration of HornseyTown Hall."
"It is a major milestone, and one to which the Trust and the Community
Partnership Board, in partnership with Haringey Council, has been
working for over four years."
The Trust will now be responsible for raising funding to cover the costs of development, and for running and managing the town hall once it is open again.
The refurbished Grade II* building will include cafes and bars,
theatre and performance halls, art gallery and exhibition space, and
multi-purpose community use space. Improvements will also be made to the Town Hall square outside.
The Town Hall’s East Wing, Link Block, Broadway
Annexe and Mews will be developed with residential flats and houses to generate capital for the redeveloment. Award-winning architects, John McAslan + Partners have been engaged to design the project.
