Enjoy a run through the trees to save some other trees this September
This is the third year that the Rainforest 10k has taken place in Finsbury Park, and organisers hope it will become a regular fixture here. The run is a chance to have fun, enjoy a run in the early autumn air and help protect rainforests around the world.
In the past 20
years the Rainforest Foundation UK has helped to protect over 100,000 square
kilometres of rainforest land for sustainable use by local communities, and aims to secure a further one million square kilometres of
rainforest.
European
champion Emily Pidgeon will be the special guest race
starter. The event will also feature ethical
food stalls, live music, a free massage zone and children's entertainment for both runners and supporters to enjoy.
The
event startsat 10.30am with a 1k Fun Run for kids under 9 years old, and the main race will start at approximately 11.15am. Entry fee
for the 10K is £18 advance and £25 on the day, and the entry fee for the 1K is
£5.
