Have you seen the state of the park recently?

There's an interesting discussion taking place here on the state of Finsbury Park following the long Easter weekend, and how best to tackle the problem of littering, fly-tipping and dumping in various other green spaces across Islington and Haringey.
Complaints about littering locally seem to be on the rise, and it's easy to blame council cuts for the reduced services in parks and other green spaces. But how much of the problem is our own responsibility? And how should we be tackling the problem - stronger enforcement, with hefty fines, more education or just better provision of litter bins and more frequent refuse collection?
Have you been shocked by what you've seen left in the park recently, and how would you tackle the problem if you had your say? Let us know what you think.

Hi, good point and yes, just after the Easter bank holiday and the Royal Wedding bank holiday, the park was over littered and it looked disgusting.
In my opinion more litter bins and frequent refuse collection should be in place, but also a few posters and welcome notes to all visitors encouraging them to keep the park clean (including dog walkers......).
I couldn't stop noticing also that on weekends there are often football games taking place on the Seven Sisters side of the park and very often will see the players getting all their grass and muddy shoes cleaned on the path and it looks awful as well.
Sometimes, if the football players have not taken equipment to mark their goal posts, I have witnessed they are breaking branches of the newly planted trees along the path, which is disgraceful. I tried complaining to the Park rangers but was told that due to staff cuts they cannot control much of this.
There surely is a need for someone from the park rangers who can look after stuff like this too
Would be good to know how/ where to take this further.
Thank you
