Festive party venues in Finsbury Park

The Christmas lights are up in town, local supermarket shelves are groaning under the weight of mince pies and brandy butter, and it's time to get planning for the Christmas party season. Whether you're in charge of the office do or just wanting to get together with friends in the run-up to the big day, Finsbury Park has a range of party options on offer.

Party like it's 2010 in Finsbury Park this year.
Pubs and bars
N4 is well-known for its wide range of hostelries, and the local alehouses are all gearing up for December with Christmas menus and party bookings on offer. The World's End offers a traditional Christmas menu with turkey, sage and onion stuffing and roast vegetables with Christmas pudding to finish. Fish, beef and vegetarian alternatives are also available for non-turkey fans. Two courses cost £10.95 per person and three courses £14.95; the World's End can also do you a buffet platter for less formal parties.
Popular local the Faltering Fullback is taking party bookings - we've been warned that they're sometimes understaffed for large parties, and we recommend turning up on time for your group booking as the pub has been known to give away tables in the busy party season.
A group of friends and I (pictured) had a very pleasant festive evening at Stroud Green gastropub The Old Dairy a couple of Christmasses ago; their extensive Christmas menu includes Roast Norfolk turkey, baked salmon and Barbary duck breast, as well as unusual starters such as wild rabbit and chorizo terrine. Up to 80 guests can be seated in the dining room - book now, as it really does get busy early!
Across the road, The Stapleton Tavern is offering a Christmas menu that features the bold inclusion of brussels sprouts. As well as the turkey dinner and a vegetarian option, diners can choose from roasted pheasant, lamb shank or pork chop, and festive desserts include pecan pie and chestnut fondant as well as Christmas pud. Book at the website or on 020 72725395.
Restaurants
Finsbury Park can also cater for more formal dining requirements, especially if you're in search of alternatives to turkey and veg. Turkish restaurant The Sugar Lounge has a party menu for £22.50 per person, including a glass of Kir Royale. A vegetarian menu is available at the same price.
Fish lovers will also adore the special set menus at Chez Liline, with three courses for £20 per person and four courses for £35. Groups are also welcome to choose from the a-la carte menu. Revellers on a budget can also head to Nandos for some lively piri-piri chicken - the chain is taking party bookings now.
