Great news for anyone who's been feeling the squeeze on their morning commute recently - rail operator First Capital Connect has announced plans to add new services from Finsbury Park and increase the number of carriages on existing trains at the busiest times.

Commuters will welcome the end of the rush-hour crush
Five new six-carriage services will be added in the mornings to Moorgate and King's Cross, and six existing trains will be doubled in length. In the evenings, three new six-carriage services will be added, and seven trains will be increased to six carriages in length.
Together with new and longer services to Bowes Park, Alexandra Palace, Hornsey and Harringay the upgrades will mean an extra 41 carriages will be trundling up and down the line with a total of 5,500 more seats from December.
To clean and maintain the new services, First Capital Connect needs to expand its maintenance facility at Wightman Road. The company is awaiting approval from Haringey council for the expanded facility and the new carriages. Could this be the end to rush-hour travel misery in Finsbury Park?
