North London MPs Jeremy Corbyn (Islington North) and Glenda Jackson (Hampstead and Kilburn) are among a group of members calling for London Underground to rethink its plans to cut hundreds of ticket office staff from tube stations.

A ticket office at the end of the tunnel? Jeremy Corbyn wants Finsbury Park station to remain manned.
Motions tabled in the House of Commons by the MPs, who also include John McDonnell, Virendra Sharma. Ian Davidson, Ronnie Campbell, Jim McGovern and Linda Riordan, state that the job losses would adversely affect tube services and cause problems for disabled passengers.
The calls to retain ticket office staff also highlight safety concerns for late-night passengers. Ticket offices under threat include those at Finsbury Park itself and Arsenal, as well as nearby Northern Line stations Archway and Tufnell Park.
TfL have said the proposals will bring ticket office staffing into line with customer demand. "All of our stations will continue to be staffed at all times while trains are operating," said a spokesperson, "and all stations with a ticket office will continue to have one."
