The 2009 Christmas number 1 winners Rage Against The Machine played a fantastic thank you gig at Finsbury Park in June. The event was brilliant, however the night was spoiled by the stay in the Majestic Hotel.
The full booking fee was taken from my bank account before the event was any where near close to happening. After enquiring about the charge, I was told that this amount was non-refundable, despite hotel booking websites saying that the hotel has a cancellation policy of noon the day before arrival. On the Majestic Hotel website, there is no mention of this what so ever.
The room its self was very disappointing. There was minimal room for three people, and it looked as though the previous three occupants had not had their left-overs removed. The bathroom was full of hairs and the toilet its self was in need of a good cleaning.
Breakfast the following morning could have been a redeeming feature if it did not arrive cold.
The Hotel staff were welcoming, yet very slow to respond to any requests or queries, and when informed about the room and breakfast were less than enthusiastic to assist in any way.
Overall I was very disappointed in the Majestic Hotel, and would advise anyone travelling to the area to find a Hotel where you can at least get a refund for such a poor quality of service.
