Finsbury Park MPs unaffected by national swing

Finsbury Park voters have returned all three incumbent local MPs to their seats with increased majorities. On a night that saw big changes for Parliament nationwide, the message on the ground here is one of popular support for local representatives.
Labour's Jeremy Corbyn
was the first local incumbent to have his result declared, a win in Islington North with a 3.3% increase in share of the vote to 54.5%. Liberal
Democrat Lynne Featherstone also remains MP for Hornsey and Wood Green with
an increased majority, up 3.2% to 46.5%.
Turnout was up in both constituencies, +7.1% in Hornsey and Wood Green and +11.5% in Islington North. In Hackney North, voter turnout increased by a massive 13.4% to an "unprecedented" 62.8% of local voters, meaning the count was only completed this afternoon. Diane Abbott retains her seat with a vote share of 54.9, an increase of 6% on 2005.
Former cabinet ministers Charles Clarke and Jacqui Smith both lost
their seats in a night where the Conservatives gained 91 new members, but
Finsbury Park voters have sent all three of the MPs elected in 2005 back to
Westminster with reinforced support. David Lammy is also continuing as a Labour MP in neighbouring Tottenham.
Does this result demonstrate local representation is more important to Finsbury Park people than the national executive? Have your say below.
