Free School Dinners

Islington school dinners will go free from 8th March for everyone regardless of ability to pay. Is this really such a good idea given the current economic crisis? I'm not even convinced that the dinners are necessarily healthier than a packed lunch. Although my children certainly eat less of the school dinner since they don't like them very much!
