Six Acres Estate resident Theresa Coyle has been awarded an MBE "for

voluntary service to the community in Islington" in the Queen's New Years Honours list.

Ms Coyle is board chairwoman of Homes for Islington, the firm

that runs the borough's housing estates. She was elected as Chair of HFI's Board in November 2009, and is also manager of the Andover Estate Community Centre and a former director of

the Federation of Islington's Tenants Associations.

The honours are awarded each year at New Year, and pay

tribute to outstanding achievement and service across the community.

The MBE will be presented by the Queen at an official ceremony later this year.

We hope to have more on this story later this week!
