As we reported on 6 December, Councillor Richard Wilson has presented Haringey Council with the results of a local parking survey on parking in Finsbury Park and Crouch End. Over 300 residents responded to the survey online and by post.

The survey showed that 79% of local residents believe parking has got worse over the last year, and 61% are in favour of new CPZs (controlled parking zones) in addition to those presently operating.

Wilson and other councillors are now calling for a full parking consultation."It is clear from our survey that the council needs to act now on the increasing problem local residents are having," says Wilson. The council have written to the Haringey cabinet minister in charge of parking, demanding an urgent review.

As well as an extension of the existing CPZ scheme, councillors also want to see dedicated van parking spots to help local traders.

A spokesperson for Haringey Council said, "a review of the Crouch End and Finsbury Park CPZ is on our provisional 2010/11 Parking Programme. If approved, the review will consult the views of residents on the boundary of these existing CPZs."

Wherever yiu look now, there are just more yellow and white lines on the road and less and less places to park. This is getting ludicrous.
