Two public consultations will be held on Saturday 13th February 2pm-6pm and Monday 15th February 6pm-8pm at 11 Clifton Terrace, concerning proposals to convert and extend the office building previously occupied by Sense into a new cultural building for Finsbury Park. The building will contain a 200 seat theatre, a studio theatre half that size, an interval bar and a foyer, rehearsal rooms, dressing rooms and a small office.

Organiser Jez Bond syas, "We aim to bring high quality theatrical entertainment to the area, while also providing young people in the area with the opportunity to develop their confidence and communication skills through participation in drama.

The site is at the heart of the Community Core within Islington Council's proposed Finsbury Park Area Action Plan. We aim to submit a planning application in March 2010."

The two meetings will give local people a chance to see detailed plans and 3D pictures of the designs for the theatre, ask questions and give feedback. If you are unable to make either of these meeting times and would like to have input into the project, email jezbond@live.co.uk.

It will be interesting to see what the plans look like. I can't imagine it will be anything like the old Finsbury Park Empire which closed in 1960: tinyurl.com/ybwzzrq
