A special Rage Against the

Machine concert will be taking place in Finsbury Park in London on

Sunday 6 June in celebration of the band's Christmas No. 1.

When the LA-based band scored their Christmas number 1 over X-Factor winner Joe

McElderry, they promised fans a free

gig to show their appreciation. "A historic grassroots rebellion made our

song 'Killing in the Name' the number one Christmas single of 2009," said guitarist Tom Morello. "As a thankyou to

our UK fans and freedom fighters we promised to play a free show.

Well...here we come!"

The Rage Factor will be a whole-day gig with a full supporting bill of artists to be announced. 40,000 free tickets will be distributed by a lottery system. For your chance to attend,  go to www.theragefactor.co.uk to register.

Registration will be open until midnight on Sunday 14th

February and  tickets released on a rolling

lottery basis from 9am on Wednesday 17th. There is a maximum of two

tickets per person available. The organisers remind fans that registration does not guarantee a

ticket.

Rage Against The Machine reached the top slot in December following a Facebook campaign in the UK, selling over 500,000 downloads of their 1992 track

Killing In The Name. The promised gig was announced by Morello on Radio 1's Zane Lowe show.
