Say you want a Resolution? Finsbury Park can help you achieve your goals for 2010!

If, like me, you rolled out of bed into a snowy Finsbury Park this morning with a wishlist of personal improvement goals for 2010, you might be worried about seeing these through to the end of January, let alone the end of the year. But fear not, for Finsbury Park is full of people ready to help you stay resolute this year and beyond!

If an excess of Christmas pud and bad television has made you resolve to get fit this year, the NIA fitness classes at Islington Arts Factory might be just the thing to kickstart your reigime. Combining martial arts, modern dance and postural work, the classes promise a holistic approach to body conditioning. Classes are on Sundays at 11am and cost £6 (£4 concs).

GMTV's Tina Baker offers a fast solution to mince-pie bulge at Paradise Walk on Tuesdays at 10am. Weight Loss Special classes start with an aerobic workout to burn fat and continue with toning exercises to improve muscle definition. The price is £8 per class or £70 for a course of 10. The Factory is also launching its new latin-inspired Zumba® Fitness on Tuesday evenings from 5th January.

Those wanting to work out in the great outdoors might like to try the free 5k Finsbury parkrun every Saturday at 9am. The marshalled  run will be timed so you can track your progress over time, and runners are welcome to a friendly coffee after each run to share stories and tips. The parkrun is open to all, but new runners are asked to register online before your first run.

Perhaps you've resolved to take care of mind, body and spirit in 2010? Hard Az Nailz can help you put your best face forward with an Express Facial (£25). The 35 minute treatment toning and moisturising treatment will not only get your skin glowing, but includes a relaxing face and neck massage to soothe the tensions of the festive period. Aquarius also have a range of luxury facial treatments and body massage therapies to leave you refreshed and pampered.

Find tranquillity within at Paradise Walk's Zen Yoga classes on Tuesday evenings. A relaxed style with an emphasis on breath, alignment and flowing motion through the postures, Zen is suitable for all ages and experience. Top up your inner wellbeing with a trip to Green Lifestyle health foods.

If your goal this year is to do your bit for the environment, you can start acting local by joining the Finsbury Park Community Gardening group every first Saturday of the month at 9am. Meet at the Manor House Lodge (near Manor House Gate) wearing suitable clothing - all gardeners welcome! For more tips on waste reducation, energy saving and sustainability at home and work, visit the Green Living Centre or email greenliving@islington.gov.uk. And finally, don't forget you can start your greener 2010 by recycling your Chirstmas tree!
