Think global, shop local - new delivery service supports local stores

Have you ever felt you want to support local shops, but find the online shopping and delivery services offered by the big national supermarkets just too tempting at the end of a busy day? Thanks to new local delivery service Hubbub, that may no longer be a problem!

Who needs a trolley anyway?

Who needs a trolley anyway?

The idea behind the service is simple - shoppers can log on, browse the virtual shelves by store or by product, select groceries and book a delivery slot, all in one go. Hubbub aims to be as convenient as online supermarket shopping but with the added benefit of buying from local butchers, bakers, greengrocers and fishmongers. Online prices are identical to those found in the shops. Deliveries can be booked in convenient 1-hour slots and cost just £3.50.

The service aims to reduce packaging, waste and CO2 emissions as well as support local trade. Produce is locally-sourced, meaning fewer food miles and better quality, and the delivery service reduces car journeys made to shops. Hubbub also promise to pack your goodies sensibly, cutting down on waste in this area as well.

Hubbub currently delivers to most of Highbury, Islington, Finsbury Park, Stoke Newington, Tufnell Park and Kentish Town, and plans to roll out the service across London and beyond soon.

Find out if your postcode is covered at www.hubbubdeliveries.co.uk, and let us know how you get on!
