Trees for Tibet - fundraising gig at The World's End, April 23

Trees for Tibet is a community environmental project organised by and for villagersin East Tibet. The scheme aims to help the villagers plant 40,000 trees per year to prevent desertification and soil erosion directly caused by deforestation in Tibet.

The organisation rasied £1200 last year and this year hopes to send even more money to Tibet to help villagers in Amdo reforest their grasslands. The World's End on Stroud Green Road will be hosting a fundraising gig on Friday 23 April, with music by Elisabeth Blair, Simple Kid, and
Smoke Stack Blues Players. There will also be a screening of the short film Leaving Fear Behind.
