"Victory for the community" as strip club plans withdrawn

We recently reported that the landlord of the former Red Rose pub on Seven Sisters Road, now named Club Imperial, was applying for permission to have fully naked table dancers in a bid to increase trade. Following a local community petition against the move, the plans have now been withdrawn.
Councillor Phil Kelly, supporting the campaign, said: “This is a victory for the community. We
collected signatures on a petition against the application and dozens
of people objected." MP Jeremy Corbyn was also against the proposed licence. Cllr Kelly added that he would be keeping an eye out for similar plans in future.
Club Imperial's owner, Altarslan Bali, has said he would still like to seek permission to host strippers at private stag nights.
Bali is to now speak to his solicitor about his options.
