Finsbury Park's newest music venue will open this Friday - in a converted railway carriage. The Silver Bullet, an intimate performance and club space for up to 175 guests, will be the UK's first "pop-up" music venue, remaining in Finsbury Park for just seven months before moving on to pastures new. "We won't be around long enough for people to become bored," explained owner Tom Allerton this week.
Despite its humble origins, which might otherwise remind clubgoers unpleasantly of their Monday morning commute, the converted carriage has been spruced up by award-winning design team dtwodesign. The Silver Bullet will be located directly opposite Finsbury Park station, making it ideal for transport connections all over the capital
The club's music policy aims to be eclectic and cutting edge - bands playing on the opening night include The Vanities, Foreign Office and Safari, followed by Does It Offend You Yeah? on Saturday. Regular indie club nights nights will satisfy the musically curious. Allerton hopes to match the eclecticism and flavour of the best music festivals with his programme of events.
At the end of the year, the venue will simply up and leave to an as-yet-unspecified new location - so if you're for looking a new musical experience, be sure to catch the train!
