Art on the Underground, London Underground's
art programme, has beaten 11 other countries
including France, Germany, Portugal and Argentina to an international
award for culture on a public transport system.
"Winning this award proves that contemporary art can really make a
difference to our passengers' experience of the Tube" said Tamsin Dillon, Head of Art on the Underground
Tamsin was presented with The Cultural Actions Award by Alain Flausch, president of the
International Association of Public Transport (UITP) at the 58th UITP
World Congress event in Vienna last week.

Just read the other day that Boris is going to be raising the public transport ticket prices to try work off the deficit. Might also remove some bus services. Great now how do we afford to go to work...
