This is probably the best Green Lanes mezze cafe I know (speaking as a vegetarian diner). There's a great choice of dishes to please meaty of veggie tastes alike, and prices are excellent. My partner and I left absolutely stuffed this evening but paid less than £30 for an evening meal; they lay on so much free bread and salad that you're sure to leave feeling pleasantly full. Nice atmosphere too, and gets quite crowded from about 8pm onwards. The restaurant is extremely family friendly, with lots of parents and kids on weekend days. Chairs are so tiny they feel like they were made for kids, but I gather this is all part of the authenticity! I love chilling out here on a sunny day with a beer (be warned, they only serve one lager, the Turkish staple Efes!) and a nice plate of squeaky cheese.

ReportAntepliler is a legendary spot and rightly so. One of the only real restaurants in the area (most places are more takeaway or meze affairs), always busy, always turning out fantastic food. They don't take bookings but somehow will still manage to fit in your party of ten when you arrive on a Saturday evening. This is a place for feasting on superb grilled meats, salads, soups, stews and, of course, lahmacuns. The entire front of the restaurant is given over to the preparation of these Turkish pizzas from scratch - dough stretching through to baking in the enormous wood-fired oven dome. You can pop in to get one to take away with salad - the best on-the-go snack around. £1.30!
