Ashmount School will be moving to the local area
Ashmount
School - currently based in Archway - will move into a brand new
building in Crouch Hill Community Park. The site will offer improved
recreational space and child care services for local people. There will
also be facilities for children and young people, with a new building
for Bowlers Nursery and refurbishment of the CAPE Youth Centre.
Willmott
Dixon was selected for the project at Islington Council's executive
meeting on Thursday. Demolition of the old recreation centre at Crouch
Hill is due to begin later this year, with building of the new
facilities starting in January 2011. The new school building will open
in September 2012.
Head of Ashmount School, Pana McGee,
said, "This is wonderful news for our whole school community who will
benefit from the amazing new educational environment."
