Arsenal Face Coach Ban
By kemblek | Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 09:21
Islington Council have refused permission for coaches to continue to be parked at the Sobell Centre on match days and have criticised the club for failing to find a long term solution.
Phil Kelly, chairman of Islington's east area planning committee said "We are fed up with giving Arsenal temporary permission. Arsenal have been short-sighted and selfish. They will have to stop supporters coming in coaches".
It is understood that Arsenal plan to appeal.

ReportArsenal has agreed to make 14 coach parking spaces available in Queensland Road where they are building the new community sports centre and flats. But this obviously isn't a short term solution as building work hasn't even started. Also is 14 spaces really sufficient for a 60,000 seater stadium?

ReportThey have parking for coaches underneath the stadium but can't use it for security reasons under police instruction (I bet players and VIPs park there). Surely this is a police over-reaction, local residents should not have to put up with coaches parking around the stadium.
